Seuratalo was a meetinghouse for factory workers in Oulu from 1930s to 1940s. After that the building has functioned as wartime hospital,
school, kindergarten and clubhouse. Nowadays the building works as sports house. The functionalistic redbrick building is listed  as protected building for its architectural values. For a building to stay well taken care of it is important to find proper use for it. Seuratalo does not function well in its current purpose and therefore I planned a new intended use for it.

Working with this project it was priority for me to restore the  buildings spirit as representative of Finnish functionalism and its
former purpose as a place for workers to come together. As the time has gone by, also the forms of labor have evolved. Nowadays  many of us work alone as freelancers or within small businesses. As coworking space Seuratalo services as a representative of modern work culture and still holds its original glory.
